Fairhope Utilities solves trash problem by renting out premium downtown trash cans.

Fairhope citizens were enraged this week after finding the local trash pickup may be reduced to once a week or see an increase in rates. This comes after the city found a deficit in funds that could not be maintained in the future. The council held a meeting late Wednesday to discuss new ideas to solve the issue before chaos unraveled through the city. Their answers were solved however when a grouchy and green fur covered man interrupted the meeting requesting rates for local trash can properties. Seizing the opportunity, a deal was made for a premium location downtown for a more than hefty sum. The deal almost covers the financial conundrum, and if the city can rent out just a few more cans downtown they believe they will not only solve the problem, but will be able to increase trash pickup to 5 times a week.
