Red Snapper Season explodes among virus fears as boating companies offer fishing via Zoom.

Boat Captains across the Gulf Coast went into the fishing season fearing lower than expected numbers due to Covid-19 pandemic fears. Some wise entrepreneurs took advantage of the situation by offering Red Snapper fishing via the Zoom digital meeting app, letting customers really feel like they were fishing right from their dining room.

Those who signed up over the weekend were asked to wake up at 3 a.m in order to be in ready by their computer by 6 a.m. Although not required, digital snapper fisherman can begin drinking light beer as the ship sets sail in the sunrise. Take your Dramamine and watch the bow of the ship bounce through the waves for the next 2 hours before the friendly first mate pulls in your limit of snapper, while you watch in your underwear in the den of screaming kids.

You can purchase tickets from any participating boat in the Gulf Shores or Orange Beach area for the remainder of the season. Just be sure to be quick... Only 6 laptops fit on a typical boat.
