Up to 4k people expected to attend tonight's "Lighting of the Goat" at Lyon's Share Gallery.

Every year since 2003, Fairhope's Lyons Share art gallery located on De Le Mare has been lighting up a stuffed goat to commemorate the holidays. Little did they know their small ritual was about to blow up...
Every year since, the crowds have grown larger with the city even putting up a million lights downtown to commemorate the goat. Carolers sing, bands play, Azalea Trail Maids wave, and artificial goat cheese pours down from the sky from special machines installed on each corner.
According to the Facebook event page, as many as 4 thousand people will attend despite some controversy of the goat's similarity to the Pagan God, Santa Goat. Drop by Lyons Share Gallery to see the lighting tonight at 6pm sharp and sample the homemade goat cheddar cheese, which is also sharp.
