TFI Eats: River Park's Grocery!

When dining in Fairhope one can often be disappointed when going out to a restaurant. Not because the food was bad, but because the expectations were set too high. With some of the most amazing gourmet restaurants in South Alabama the bar is set too high. That's why I love to hit up gas station food. You expect the food to be bad so you can never be disappointed. This is why Los Tacos is one of my Fairhope favorites. Today I decided to hit up the River Park's Grocery just past Wal-Mart east of town.

This is a place where you can get every errand on your list done in one stop, so I tried to make the most of it. The River Park's Station specializes in Transmission repair, liquor, groceries, deli items, BBQ, Fueling needs, and Memes (the store is plastered floor to ceiling in printed internet Memes). I utilized the store by getting my transmission checked, stocking up on malt liquor, and of course the crazy variety of food.
The owner informed my that they just pulled a slab of ribs on the smoker and that they make a mean Rib Sandwich. I got this along with pizza and a Philly Cheesesteak Po-boy (just like the french settlers ate when they arrived in modern day New Orleans!). After my order was placed I saw the photos of their famous Pizza Burger, which is a hamburger patty between two miniature pizzas. I will try that next time if my arteries will allow it.                                                                                                                                                                       Overall I was impressed by the quality of the meat, the prices, and the portions of the grub. I had a great meal with a small price tag, that is until I was informed that I need to buy a new transmission which brought my bill up a few thousand dollars. Apparently, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce does NOT make good transmission fluid.
